Bruce's World

1. I have a new interest, making myself well known. I have no doubt what my faults and issues are and in many senses I am self deprecating with a realistic view of what I do well and what I don't do as well.
Over the past few weeks, I have been the guest on two radio shows. One, which is hosted by Dave Pippin out of Tampa and Orlando is a show devoted to financial matters and I have been asked to appear because of my background and understanding of how home owners who are the victims of predatory lending can be made who.

The second show where i will be a regular is very different. it is an Internet show, that will be on video from hence forward. Screamin Sam 'www.screamsam.com is the host and yesterday I was his guest for the same purpose.
There is little doubt that I can be a host's second banana. I have the ability to improvise when callers call and questions asked and I am funny with insight. We shall see where this ride takes me.

2. 2/17/13:
I was a guest on Dave Pippin's "Financial Power" radio program
yesterday. I have had some experience with the media. In fact, I am
regularly quoted in the Long Island Newsday paper now for the case Spota v Suffolk
County but I have only been an on-air guest for any issue once.

The show yesterday concerned predatory lending behavior by lending institutions
and my slant was as a criminal lawyer. There has not been a time when I
have walked into a court room and not been nervous. I had the same
feeling before the show but just as my  nerves always disappear when I
get into court, they disappeared when the show started. There may have
been one moment of dread for Dave Pippin, the host and moderator when
I began a thought by invoking George Carlin. For once the filter
between my brain and mouth worked and my point was made in Carlinesque
fashion with humor and without profanity. Keeping my mouth in check is
never easy.

3.  January 19, 2014.

I have been remiss on my blog. I suffer from inertia. I suffer from lazy. I suffer from underachieving. I do not suffer from observations and some degree of insight.

I have been privileged to be associated as one of the hosts of WMNF's Urban Cafe. The Urban Cafe can be heard live every Sunday at 9 AM in Tampa and you can listen to the shows on its website. It is particularly flattering because the rest of the "crew" are accepting of me despite our disparate backgrounds and ages.

This week was particularly good because it was live from Tampa's Hixon Park and our theme was Dr. Martin Luther King and the wonderful celebration. The show is advertised as "the voice for a new generation". I am flattered to be accepted as the old white dude who brings another point of view to any topic. Some of the topics are fun. Some have some depth. The DJ  and Emcee are marvelous and the blend of personalities on the show is different from other talk shows. Tune in.

Next week we will be discussing something I am very familiar with, the law and specifically insurance dos and don'ts as well as liability issues. TUNE IN.
